Tom's Thoughts
Why am I a “lunch buddy”?

I was recently asked to be a lunch buddy at Weller Elementary. There are many kids who live in difficult home situations and need an adult to show interest in their lives. Spending 30 minutes a week eating lunch with one kid is a way you can make a difference in their world.

Why do I do this? Because it’s the best way to connect with a kid and his/her family. It’s also a great way to show the love of Jesus in a practical way. It takes time, but it is worth the time.

If there is a program like this in your local school, you should consider getting involved. If you are part of High Street, talk to me about how you can be a lunch buddy!
